This ambitious project aimed to produce close to 4 Mtpa of steel products from a coastal magnetite ore deposit, with steelmaking facilities proposed at Newcastle, New South Wales.

Additionally, we developed alternative slag granulation solutions, including novel dry granulation technology, for application at OneSteel’s blast furnace in Whyalla, Australia.
We conducted an evaluation of the commercial application of the AusIron® direct smelting technology for pig iron production, providing project management services and technical assistance for the start-up and operation of its commercial-scale ironmaking demonstration plant in Whyalla, South Australia.
